So another Ramadan has started in Pakistan. This is really a big failure for me that I was unable to leave this shit-land this year. Now living in a typical Pakistani conservative family, I have to ‘bear’ another Ramadan. Hopefully, this will be my last.
Rainy days and Mondays
•April 6, 2009 • Leave a CommentIt’s raining again here in Isloo. The weather is quite good given that we’ll be experiencing extreme heat in very near future. And I just hate summers especially the Pakistani summers – totally disgusting.
Anticipating those ugly summers while in a bad mood on this Monday rainy day, am listening to this song.
Excellent documentary on Swat valley
•February 25, 2009 • Leave a CommentThe New York Times has produced an excellent documentary on the state of female education in Swat. Although Taliban have allowed the education of females but with lots of strings attached. The documentary is a good example of news reporting and film-making amalgamated into one.
Here is the link.

No winter in Islamabad?
•January 25, 2009 • Leave a CommentI have yet to see any signs of real cold here in Islamabad. Unlike in the past where mercury used to drop around 26F/27F at nights; this year, however, it hasn’t dropped even below 32F. There also used to be days when the city remained under heavy fog especially during the mornings but it has also become a thing of the past. What has happend to the weather of this city?
I miss old Isloo………….
So Long ‘Sucker’
•January 21, 2009 • Leave a CommentSo Bush is finally out of the White House. Just saw that gloomy lunatic face yesterday when he was boarding a chopper. Irony of the matter is his continous support for inhuman activities and he is proud of his ‘achievements’. His era was really a black period.
Anyways, it’s time to say Good Bye so…………..SO LONG SUCKER, BURN IN HELL.
Another year
•December 31, 2008 • Leave a CommentAs am watching the last sun of 2008 slowly setting in the Margallas, am getting chills. This is not because of any scary situation or incident. The sole reason for this apparent fear is that I was unable to do something good for me and for the society.
Due to some reasons which I can’t explain, I’ve ruined my life. I did have many options/chances but I turned my back and kept busy in my nasty routines. Now am afraid that these ‘deeds’ will backfire.
Blasts and world peace
•November 29, 2008 • Leave a CommentThe Mumbai massacre has threatened the world peace. Better sense has failed to prevail but am hoping that Indians will rethink their strategy as so much is at stake.
Mini revolution in the U.S
•November 5, 2008 • Leave a CommentObama’s victory is kind of a mini revolution in the United States. People, excluding the Republicans, are over excited at his victory. The common Americans consider him to be their Messiah. I am surprised at the celebrations in other parts of the world as if it’s a new year night or what. Now let’s see will Obama performs well to stand for re-election? I am keeping my fingers crossed.
Election fever is on
•November 2, 2008 • 1 CommentPakistanis seem to be so much interested in the American elections – including yours truly. The interest is justified as U.S is practically our de facto ruler and we have to know what’s going on there. Having said that, now Pakistanis are mostly favoring Obama because of his so-called Muslim background.
One of my friends is going over the top. He is keeping an account of the daily exit polls, ratings and other stuff and is totally consumed in this election fever. I amafraid that all his enthusiasm for Obama will fade away once the results are announced. I am also in favor of Obama but I think that American people still have many prejudices and many will never accept Obama as president. Let’s see what happens.
